Open Letter: Finally in Union (POV From a Runner)

We met when he was a foreign exchange student at a neighboring high school in the US in 2010. We are now 30ish. We only met one time through mutual friends when he was originally here, but we’ve been drawn to each other again and again since.

I am the runner, largely because I have an extremely severe childhood trauma history and am equally terrified of abandonment and intimacy. I moved to his country to be with him in 2015 and stayed until 2017, when I sabotaged the relationship and ran back home.

Started having dreams about TF around eight months ago and with my karmic ex-partner’s knowledge/permission, reached out to apologize for everything I did to him. I didn’t intend for anything to happen — this was three weeks before I married my ex — but things went right back to how they were immediately.

Went through with a big and very public wedding to the karmic, experienced spontaneous kundalini awakening, and basically have had the most intense and difficult half year of my life, which is really saying something for me. TF refused to engage me in emotional infidelity and we both realized we can’t be just friends, so I was on my own for my healing. There were constant synchronicities.

I tried at least a dozen times to sever the attachment to TF, and started actually getting physically ill when I would attempt this. I’m not proud to say I basically did everything I could to keep things as they were and avoid the connection, but the universe had other plans.

So realizing this was futile, I worked my tail off to heal, which included three weeks of puking up my trauma on ayahuasca in the Peruvian Amazon. Last month I finally pulled the trigger and asked my karmic for a divorce. TF invited me to come see him, so I flew across the Atlantic, arrived on Friday and will be here for three weeks.

I have walked across fire and brimstone to be here and I have to say, it has all been worth it. It is everything I thought it would be, and more. I have some things to wrap up at home, but we are going to spend our lives together. I just made us some coffee and am lying next to him in bed while he works. I don’t even know where to begin.

Seeing the way he looks at me with pure love, thinking “I hope he touches me here” and then he immediately does it… I cannot believe how lucky I am or how dumb I was to give this up.

Moments Beyond Time

Remember, it's not about the calendar days or the ticking clock in your path to union.
